On May 30, 2023, Batch 12 students from the Master in Global Luxury Goods & Services Management (MGLuxM) program at SP Jain School of Global Management had the honour of touring the recently opened Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) which was a stunning display of cultural immersion and grandeur. As the students set off on the tour that embraced art, fashion, and the very essence of real luxury, this architectural wonder that is tucked away in the centre of Mumbai revealed its magnificence.

As the students entered the centre, the stunning art galleries captured their attention right away. Every corner was a work of art that had been carefully picked to represent many styles of artistic expression. The students were exposed to a world where creativity knew no bounds, from contemporary abstract paintings to classical sculptures.

The NMACC boasted a magnificent theatre outside of the art galleries that offered an amazing experience. The art house presented a group show bringing together 10 Indian and international artists, titled ‘Sangam/Confluence’. It was curated by the New York-based Jeffrey Deitch, artist, curator and art dealer with a career spanning 50 years, and Ranjit Hoskote, curator, poet and one of India’s foremost cultural theorists.

India in Fashion:

The well-known "India in Fashion" exhibit, dedicated to showcasing the blend of traditional and contemporary fashion in India and globally, was a high point of the NMACC. The exhibit was curated by Hamish Bowles and designed by Patrick Kinmonth together with Rooshad Shroff. The students were thrilled to witness iconic brands such as Chanel and Dior paying homage to India's rich cultural heritage through their creations. They gained a deep understanding of the artistry that characterises Indian fashion through the display, which was a harmonious fusion of vivid colours, exquisite textiles, and intricate craftsmanship.

As the students wandered through the NMACC, they realised that it was more than just a collection of stunning exhibits; it was a celebration of luxury in its purest form. Every element, from the painstakingly planned architecture to the flawless curation, demonstrated an unquestionable dedication to perfection. The NMACC served as a timely reminder that luxury transcends tangible goods and instead refers to an experience that awakens feelings, awakens the senses, and ties people to their cultural origins.

Conclusion: For the MGLuxM students from SP Jain, their trip to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre was an experience they will never forget. They were given a multi-dimensional experience that matched their taste for luxury thanks to the art galleries, huge theatre, and intriguing "India in Fashion" exhibit.

As they explored the centre, they were inspired to embrace the integration of art, fashion, and culture in their future endeavours, which forever changed the way they perceived true luxury.
