On 14th December, students from Global Luxury Goods & Services Management (MGLuxM) Program Batch 13 and Hospitality Business Leadership (HBL) Program Batch 3 visited the Audi service centre to explore the world of luxury vehicle maintenance. This visit gave them exposure to advanced engineering, systematic processes, and the craftsmanship that ensures Audi’s exceptional standards.
The visit started with a walkthrough of underbody components like the Quattro mechanism, fuel lines, and suspension systems. Students witnessed how these systems work to ensure the high performance, safety, and reliability that Audi is known for, thus giving them an opportunity to witness the practical implementation of engineering principles.
In a session on the role of spare parts in maintaining the performance and safety of luxury vehicles, students were introduced to components such as brake discs, filters, and advanced integrated tools. Engineers explained how each part contributes to overall vehicle efficiency and longevity. This brief highlighted the critical balance between quality, safety, and cost-efficiency in luxury vehicle maintenance.
Students were then taken to a paint booth under the guidance of professionals like Mr Akshay Mohanty, to observe the process of matching and applying paint to meet the company’s standards. This part of the visit highlighted the attention to detail required to achieve the brand’s finishes, from preparation to the final coat.
Another highlight of the visit was the detailed explanation of Audi’s systematic service protocols. Engineers then shared insights into the structured approach used in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Students were introduced to diagnostic tools and practices, highlighting the company’s commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and prioritising customer care and key elements that differentiate the brand in the luxury automobile sector.
The study tour concluded with students reflecting on the insights they had gained. The visit not only deepened their understanding of luxury car operations but also inspired them to think critically about the intersection of technology, quality, and customer experience.
Overall, the visit provided students with a well-rounded understanding of the engineering, craftsmanship, and processes involved in maintaining a luxury car brand like Audi.
