MGLuxM and HBL students explore luxury hospitality at St. Regis Mumbai

 

On 7thJanuary 2025, students from the Global Luxury Goods & Services Management (MGLuxM) program Batch 15 and Hospitality Business Leadership (HBL) program Batch 3 visited the St. Regis Mumbai to gain hands-on experience in understanding how luxury hotels are managed.

On 7thJanuary 2025, students from the Global Luxury Goods & Services Management (MGLuxM) program Batch 15 and Hospitality Business Leadership (HBL) program Batch 3 visited the St. Regis Mumbai to gain hands-on experience in understanding how luxury hotels are managed.

The visit began with a warm welcome, where students engaged with experienced professionals across various domains of the hospitality industry. Domenico Lannone, the Director of Operations, provided an in-depth understanding of leadership strategies and operational excellence. Students learned how prioritising guest satisfaction over short-term profitability contributes to long-term brand loyalty and financial growth.

Through interactive sessions with department heads, they gained a deeper appreciation of the interconnected roles within a luxury hotel. For MGLuxM students, the discussions demonstrated how operational strategies align with broader brand management goals, while HBL students gained a hands-on understanding of daily hotel operations, and the coordination required to deliver seamless guest experiences.

Students learned about the brand’s unique features, including its signature butler service and personalised dining experiences. Sustainability and financial management were key focuses of the visit where they explored the innovative practices employed by St. Regis, such as water recycling systems, the use of solar energy, and the brand’s adaptability during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The visit concluded with an exquisite dining experience at Sette Mara, the hotel’s Asian restaurant, where everyone indulged in a culinary journey that presented the finesse and creativity of luxury dining.

For students from both programs, this visit was an inspiring and educational experience that bridged theoretical knowledge with practical insights. It provided them with a clearer understanding of the balance between leadership, sustainability, and personalisation that defines success in the luxury hospitality industry.
