Batch 10 students of the Master in Global Luxury Goods & Services Management (MGLuxM) program at SP Jain School of Global Management visited Paris for a study tour from December 12 - 16, 2022. During their week-long adventure, they got an opportunity to immerse in the exotic world of fashion, fragrances, and champagne, thus creating an unforgettable experience!

Day 1: The students received an extensive floor tour of the Printemps and La Samaritan department stores - steeped in history while adapting to contemporary times.
Day 2: It was dedicated to visiting the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, providing a deep dive into his world of originality, creativity, and craftsmanship. In the evening, they became mystery shoppers at luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Givenchy, gaining fundamental insights into sales and customer conversion in the luxury market.
Day 3: The group went on a tour of the Champagne region of France, visiting the Michel Fagot and Bollinger factories, which left a lasting impression on them. The students learned that the wine industry is meticulous about its process, production, and distribution of champagne worldwide and that sparkling wine can only be called "Champagne" if produced in this region.
Day 4: The students visited the Dior gallery on Avenue 30 Montaigne - an enchanting experience where they learnt about Christian Dior's life story, inspiration, muse, and fascination. They saw Dior's archives, thus immersing them in the brand's universe. In the evening, they had an interactive session with their coordinator Catherine Swann at Novotel Paris, discussing their learnings from the visit.
Day 5: On the final day, the group visited the Fragonard Museum and gained an in-depth understanding of fragrance making and its French history. They learnt about the different types of perfumes and how notes are chosen to make various fragrances. The students also discovered the art of applying perfume correctly.
